One of the sunniest places in Spain is Almeria. Not so well known as Malaga or Granada, Almeria has a lot to offer to the tourists, from wonderful beach and mountains to incredible Tabernas desert where many movies have taken place. All the beaches of this city are wonderful and fully booked not only in summer but also in winter. The main reason in summer is its clean water and good weather, while in winter the temperature is still good but due to the wind is not the best to take a bath in the Mediterranean Sea, but instead, practice windsurf or any other sport involving sea and wind.
If you prefer to enjoy the nature, Cabo de Gata is the best place; only 30min from Almeria’s city center is a mix between mountains, palms and sea. During the summer is crowed as the beaches of Cabo de Gata has not experienced any damage made by the men, also is a wonderful place to taste the gastronomy of this Spanish region.
On the other hand, if you prefer only mountains, Tabernas is the perfect place to spend your holidays. 35km from the city center; you would be able to enjoy the wonderful landscape of the unique arid desert of Europe.
